民國115年05月27日教務會議修正通過

一、為加強本校學士班學生(來自英語系國家之外籍學籍生除外)達到校訂英文基本能力，特訂定本要點。

二、凡本校上述學生需於畢業前通過至少一項符合「靜宜大學校訂英文能力畢業條件及外語配套標準表」附表1所列之英文能力檢定測驗(以下稱英檢)或通過外語教學中心自辦之英檢測驗。達附表1等級者，始取得校訂英文能力畢業條件。在學期間內通過英檢者須檢附證書或成績單，經外語教學中心核驗後始完成校訂英文能力畢業條件認定作業。學生若於入學前取得英檢證書或成績單，以申請日前二年內取得始為有效。

三、符合下列任一資格者，則視同通過校訂英文能力畢業條件。

(一)  取得英文系輔系/雙主修者。

(二)  畢業前修得外語教學中心開設之「選修英語」課程4學分，惟不列計於畢業總學分內。
 

四、若具備「靜宜大學校訂英文能力畢業條件及外語配套標準表」附表2之任一外語者，得等同達英文畢業門檻，惟外語科系主修學生及外語為母語之外籍學生不適用以該外語檢定作為英文能力畢業條件。

五、本要點經教務會議通過後實施，修正時亦同。

Implementation Guidelines for English Proficiency

Graduation Requirements and Supporting Measures

Revised and passed on May 27, 2026 in the Academic Affairs Meeting

1.To enhance the basic English proficiency of undergraduate students (excluding international students from English-speaking countries), these guidelines have been established.

2.All students mentioned above must pass at least one English proficiency test listed in Appendix 1 of the "Providence University English Proficiency Graduation Requirements and Foreign Language Supporting Standard Table" (hereinafter referred to as "English proficiency test") or an English proficiency test administered by the Foreign Language Center before graduation. Students must meet the proficiency level specified in Appendix 1 to fulfill the university's English proficiency graduation requirement. Those who pass an English proficiency test during their studies must submit their certificate or score report for verification by the Foreign Language Center to complete the certification process. If a student obtained an English proficiency certificate or score report before enrollment, only those obtained within two years prior to the application date will be considered valid.

3.Students who meet any of the following conditions are considered to have fulfilled the university's English proficiency graduation requirement:
   (1) Completion of a minor or double major in the Department of English.
   (2) Completion of four credits from elective English courses offered by the Foreign Language Center before graduation (these credits will not be counted toward the total graduation credits).  
 

4.Students who have proficiency in any foreign language listed in Appendix 2 of the "Providence University English Proficiency Graduation Requirements and Foreign Language Supporting Standard Table" may be deemed to have met the English proficiency graduation requirement. However, students majoring in a foreign language  and international students whose native language is that foreign language are not eligible to use proficiency tests in that language to fulfill the English proficiency graduation requirement.

5.These guidelines shall take effect upon approval by the Academic Affairs Meeting. Any revisions shall follow the same procedure.
